Response to Trump's Tantrum: There's an "established European toolbox for responding to economic blackmail"
Trump is positively impacting another Putin goal, which is to divide the US from the EU in their previously shared number one priority of upholding western democracy.
Naturally, Donald Trump found a way to instantly suck all of the oxygen out of the room on MLK Day by doing something so outrageous and ignorant and dangerous that everyone turned their heads to stare at the demented baby in the White House, or what’s left of it under his relentless destruction of it and what it stands for.
And so Trump sent a “letter” (more like a ragingly incompetent note) demanding Greenland because ::insert your country here:: denied him the Nobel Peace prize, and since he didn’t get the prize he wanted, he’s going to destroy western democracy.
Naturally his assertion involves co-opting the word peace to threaten US allies in western democracy, while pretending he needs Greenland to stand up to Russia, as he refuses to actually stand up to Russia vis-à-vis its invasion of Ukraine. Trump wants rare Earth minerals and other critical materials from Greenland and, like Putin, territorial expansion. Trump seeks to reshape the globe in his image.
Not for nothing, but the Kremlin refused to comment on Russia’s “alleged designs on Greenland” and spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Trump would go down in world history if he took Greenland.

“There are international experts who believe that by resolving the issue of Greenland’s incorporation, Trump will certainly go down in history. And not only in the history of the United States, but also in world history.”
