Republicans are currently facing the most hostile midterm election environment that any party has had to run in since 1994. Not even the Obama midterm election of 2010 saw this much rampant voter hostility against the incumbent party as Republicans are facing currently.
Their president’s approval ratings are in the dumpster, as there is nearly universal anger among the electorate over the war in Iran, inflation, and high prices.

Given all of this, Republican candidates have adopted the tactic that has been used by political parties in modern history when they are faced with a midterm defeat. Many in the GOP have decided that Trump is a liability and they are running away from him.
Whether it is scrubbing their websites of his name, not wanting him to campaign with them, or making ads breaking with the president, Republicans are distancing themselves from Trump.
