The appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate Donald Trump appears to have Republicans rattled.
Republicans have been pulling out decades-old conspiracy theories, preemptively trying to discredit the Special Counsel as partisan, and generally seem thrown by the appointment.
The Special Counsel is not going to be investigating them, why is the GOP in such a panic?
It is almost as if Republicans did not expect Merrick Garland to try to enforce the law. The GOP is already trying to throw other investigations at the wall to distract from the dark storm cloud hovering over Donald Trump. They are talking about investigating Hunter Biden because the private son of a president is the equivalent of a Justice Department investigation of the former president in their minds.
