Republicans Are Dreading Defending Trump's Awful Iran Deal
The White House asked Republicans to tweet support for Trump's latest Iran deal, but many are criticizing, or dreading having to defend it.
Donald Trump is the king of bad deals. Sometime in our future, it would not be surprising if Trump’s name becomes shorthand in the popular lexicon for getting a bad deal.
For example, “You paid how much for that car? Man, you got Trumped.”

The list of bad deals and imaginary deals that Trump has negotiated as president is too long to list item by item, but who can forget the trade deal with China during his first term that wasn’t really a trade deal, but an outline that could have been negotiated into a trade deal, but never was.
The timeline of Trump’s bad deals all have the same common theme. Trump tries to negotiate with a foreign country and loses.
The American people could soon add Iran to that list, as it was reported that Trump’s latest attempt at surrendering in a war that he started involves the US getting nothing, but a fingers-crossed promise from Iran to not pursue a nuclear bomb in return for the Iranians getting to control the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions relief, and the ability to globally sell oil.
Many Republicans are upset about the deal because they believe that Trump would finish the job and bring about regime change. Instead, Trump got in over his head and has been trying to get out of this mess for months.
