Rachel Maddow Sounds The Alarm On ICE's New Spy Tool
Rachel Maddow talked about the effectiveness of protests, and how Trump has handed ICE a dangerous new spy tool to use against the American people.
Protests are a powerful guardrail against a would-be authoritarian like Donald Trump. The protests deny Trump the claim of legitimacy.
Protesters are a threat to somebody who wants to live in a fantasy world and give himself unlimited power.
Trump has gone so far as to turn ICE into his own lawless police force. Our own Sarah Jones has documented many of the things that ICE has done to American citizens during their campaigns in cities with lots of Democrats.

Like all persons who wish to destroy democracy, it was only a matter of time until Donald Trump sought to turn his ICE against the American people.
Maddow pointed out that Trump has given them a powerful spyware tool.
The MSNBC host said:
You may remember when the Washington Post columnist and longtime Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, was kidnapped and murdered. You may remember the salient detail that they cut up his body with a bone saw. Responsibility for Khashoggi murder has been laid squarely at the feet of the Saudi government.
The tactical means by which they got to him has in part, been laid to a piece of spyware. Cell phone spyware called Pegasus. It’s spyware that infects your phone. They target your phone. You don’t have to do anything wrong to be infected with it. You don’t have to click on anything or do anything. They infect your phone with this spyware without you ever knowing it.
