Prince Harry Shines the Light of Hope with $1.5 Million Donation to Children in Need
At a time when billionaires and millionaires are sucking up all of the resources for themselves, it's inspiring to see Prince Harry leading the way with a generous personal focus on humanitarianism.

Prince Harry is his mother’s son.
Today, the Duke of Sussex announced a $1.5 million personal donation to Children in Need in Nottingham, Britain, telling the charity, “I believe in what you’re doing.”
The charity helps young people impacted by violence primarily in the city of Nottingham.
"The incredible work being done by grassroots organisations like CRS and Epic Partners is not only inspiring - it's essential,” Prince Harry said during his announcement. "We're grateful for the support of BBC Children in Need in helping changemakers in the city continue their mission to create safe spaces, build trust, and offer hope and belonging to young people who need it most."
“Those who work with him say he wanted to donate an amount that would make a significant difference and really change the way an organisation is run,” Daniela Relph reported on the BBC.

Tony Okotie, director of impact at BBC Children in Need, said the charity was "incredibly grateful" for the donation.
On Monday, the third anniversary of the death of his beloved grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Sussex laid a wreath at her burial site at St. George's Chapel within Windsor Castle, and later gave a speech at an awards program for another charity he supports, Well Child.
Prince Harry thanked Well Child for showing us the light, when too often, darkness can surround us.
Full speech:
"I still remember my very first WellChild Awards, 18 years ago — before the beard, the hair, you know how it is — I walked into the room, and within about three minutes I realized two things: the love and energy in the room was palpable, so too was the unpredictability!" the Duke said in an interview with Hello! magazine.
"And second, that I was completely hooked on it all. This night has been a highlight of my year ever since, and it's all because of you guys: these children, this cause and our WellChild community. Thank you for showing us the light when all too often darkness can consume us.”
Watch:
Prince Harry is an example of the kind of leadership we should expect from those with privilege. He prioritizes uplifting humanity around the globe, from his wildly successful and inspirational Invictus Games for wounded warriors to the work he and his wife Meghan Sussex do with their Archewell charity, whose motto is “Show up, do good.”
A bit of Archewell’s impact:
Adira, a pupil of Bluebell Primary School who watched musical performances with Prince Harry inside the Community Recording Studio where he made his announcement, said according to the BBC, “I’m not washing my hand for a week.”
While many in the media are focusing on the question of will Harry meet with his father, King Charles, the real impact of his visit to his home country is shining a light on the benefit to all of us when we act with a generosity of spirit toward others.
At a time when we are swimming in a miasma of corruption colluding against democracy, which is spreading and embedding itself in our society, we need to focus on those with better messages. On those who lead with responsibility and even joy. Those who bring out our humanity and invite us to be and do better for our communities.
Prince Harry was reported to be “funding hope” — and so should we all. When the darkness comes, we can usher in the light through service.

I just love him. He is the one contemporary high profile royal who has empathy and who acts like a real human. William is horrible and Charles is insufferable. I can't stand how the media tries to portray Harry (and Megan) negatively. Just last week I saw an article on how he and Megan are going broke. HA. GUESS NOT!
It’s a wonderful thing to do.
