In a world increasingly dominated by soulless ghouls whose own lack of humanity is evident in the way they push immoral machine domination over arts and human rights, Pope Leo XIV has been a welcome, if surprising, voice of moral guidance.
Pope Leo made a moral argument warning against unfettered technology, the risks of artificial intelligence, and authoritarianism during his address at the Élysée Palace in Paris on September 25, 2026.
The Pope, speaking to French President Emmanuel Macron, civil authorities, and diplomats, warned against the use of nuclear weapons, saying peace has to be built every day on communication and cooperation. He argued that true peace comes from dialogue, justice, and diplomacy.
“Peace is not a balance of power; rather, it is built day by day through dialogue and justice,” the Pope argued.
A pause here while we compare communication and cooperation, values that used to drive the U.S.’s foreign policy and made us a global leader, with Donald Trump’s adversarial attacks on our allies via wildly nonsensical and damaging tariffs and his utter failure at his attempt to assert dominance by starting the war in Iran, only to be running out of munitions while Navy officers try to commit suicide.

“Eight U.S. Navy personnel attached to the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group have attempted suicide since the start of their extended deployment tied to the war in Iran, according to a letter ABC News obtained from Acting US Navy Secretary Hung Cao,” ABC reported on Thursday.
He warned that humanity could lose its soul in a "paradise of machines".
This brought to mind Elon Musk’s stunning lack of comprehension about the warnings of what he champions in books and movies he co-opts to sell his vision of a world without humanity. Pope Leo called for moral training to guide modern technology.
The Pope said technology must serve humanity, not replace it. He is not anti-technology, but rather is anti-unregulated technology that is not guided by human morality.
He argued against a situation where machines “take ethical decisions instead of us”, stopping humans from discerning right from wrong, urging us “…to avoid [a] situation where humans would be replaced by the machine, where machines would replace human action and take ethical decisions instead of us… As this ability to see right from wrong is part and parcel of our responsibility and dignity.”
“I do see, with some concern, the way technology is being used for profit, [and] manipulation of genome.”
The Pope urged that AI must be governed by conscience, moral responsibility, and human dignity, not left to market forces or purely technical logic.
It’s not lost on me that former President Joe Biden was working diligently with private AI companies to put a framework in place so they would identify videos made with AI, for example, along with other stopgaps meant as a stopgap for a Congress that refuses to do its job to pass legislation to protect The People from an unfettered by morality tech industry.
The tech industry is so powerful that they seem to have chosen Donald Trump as the next president, a man so corrupt that he would and has let them get away with anything they want to do so long as he and his family can profit from it.
If anyone doubts this power, recall former Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair Lina Khan’s work at the FTC under Joe Biden going after tech companies. Under her leadership, the FTC changed its hands off approach to big tech, as she led an aggressive antitrust crackdown on major tech companies.
Khan now works for Mayor Mamdani as chair of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) board of directors.
The Pope also linked freedom, pluralism, and dialogue directly to resisting authoritarian tendencies, saying, “I’d like to stress that a free society doesn’t impose a single view, but does protect a diversity of faiths and opinions by stopping authoritarian slippage by promoting changes of views and dialogue.”
That is a direct contrast to the “Christian nation” Donald Trump and the Republican Party are pushing onto Americans, including demonizing people like Mayor Mamdani because he is not a Christian.
