Pete Hegseth Melts Down As His Farcical Iran War Claims Get Challenged
Sec. of Defense Pete Hegseth held a media briefing where he tried to spin Trump's Iran surrender as an overwhelming win, but when challenged by reporters, Hegseth snapped.
Donald Trump was desperate to get out of the war with Iran that he started and was losing. Trump was so desperate that he agreed with all of Iran’s terms and signed on to a ceasefire, which he claimed that he would not do.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth held a briefing on Wednesday morning where he tried to rewrite reality and spin Trump’s cave into a great victory for the United States.
For more on Trump’s surrender, check out our video:
However, things fell apart when reporters were blurting out facts because Hegseth’s claims did not match reality.
Before we dig into a few of the questions, remember that the premise of this briefing is that the war is over. Trump made a great deal, and the United States won.

An attendee from The Daily Wire asked Hegseth, “ Two questions. Iran has said that safe passage to the Strait of Hormuz will be possible in coordination with Iran's armed forces and technical limitations. What do you believe that means? And then we've also heard reports that Iran has continued striking targets while into this morning. At what point are we beyond a grace period? Are we giving them a grace period? Is there a miscommunication there? What's going on with that?”
Hegseth answered:
I'm sure their military's watching, but commerce will flow. And that's what you saw the markets react to is that reality. As far as shooting that we were monitoring it last night in real time. Of course, we are Iran would be wise to find a way to get the carrier pigeon to their troops out in remote locations, to know not to shoot any longer a one-way attacks or missiles because this is takes time sometimes for ceasefires to take hold. We're watching it. We're prepared if necessary, but we hope and believe that it'll hold.
A reporter yelled out, “They’re still firing ballistic missiles.”
Hegseth snapped, “Why are you so rude?”

In the fantasy world of the Trump administration, reality is rude.
However, this interaction wasn’t a one-off as you’ll see below.
