DOGE Is Not What Most Americans Want

In modern presidential history, it is impossible to find a successful candidate who ran on one agenda, then immediately did the opposite after taking office. Trump promised immediate mass deportations, which haven’t happened. Trump said that he would lower prices on day one. Instead, inflation is surging.

Trump has done some things that he said he would do. He promised that he would make sure that no other president could be investigated by the DOJ and he is pretty much dismantling federal law enforcement.

Donald Trump’s promise to go after waste, fraud, and abuse in the government turned out to be a pretext for Elon Musk to gain illegal access to the private information of the American people.

Musk and Trump have also illegally attempted to get rid of agencies and carry out mass firings in the federal workforce.

The American people are making their displeasure known over the DOGE cuts.

The most recent Morning Consult tracking poll revealed, “Trump’s and Elon Musk’s high-profile efforts with the newly created Department of Government Efficiency are breaking through to voters, 46% of whom say that shrinking the federal government is a top priority for the administration. However, it’s a considerably smaller share (31%) who believe it should be that much of a priority.”

Voters have a pretty good idea of what Trump and Musk are doing, and it is not what nearly 70% of them want Trump to be focused on.

The data gets much worse for Trump and his party, as you will see below.
