The Gavin Newsom/Ron DeSantis/Sean Hannity Debate Was Revealing
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) had to have understood what he was up against going into Thursday night’s debate. Not only was Newsom debating Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) on Fox News, but he was also participating in a debate hosted by Sean Hannity.
The debate essentially was Newsom versus DeSantis versus Hannity who was more of a participant than moderator.
In broad terms, DeSantis and Hannity went all culture war and fear all of the time. Newsom was speaking to the rest of America who does not support banning books from schools, discriminating against gay and trans people, and doesn’t think that the nation needs to get hysterical because non-white people want to come to America.
It was a night of culture war versus rational America.
The culture war narrative failed Republicans in 2022, but they are coating it with Trump venom and coming back for more in 2024.
However, there was one moment of the debate that showed why Republicans can’t stop losing.
Let’s talk about it below.
