'NATO Treated Trump Like a Doddery Old Uncle'
A British newscaster said NATO treated Donald Trump like a doddery old uncle, “‘I think they’ve given him an off ramp.’ He realized that he overplayed his hand."
“What we’ve ended up with Greenland is absolutely nothing at all for Trump. NATO has played it like you would, sort of, you know, they've patted a doddery old uncle on this one,” Emily Maitlis, formerly of the BBC, said on LBC.
“‘I think they’ve given him an off ramp.’ He realized that he overplayed his hand. He got slightly spooked by their response.”

Maitlis suggested they tossed out the idea of a Golden Dome to make Trump happy:
I think they’ve said, oh, yeah, good idea. Golden Dome, oh, let’s see if we can manage something. Let’s Yeah, exactly. I don’t think that, from what I understand, and obviously we’re still trying to piece it together.
