Nancy Mace Sinks Steve Scalise
There was something troubling about Steve Scalise being anointed the Republican nominee for speaker despite winning the Republican conference vote 113-99 over Jim Jordan, and it only took minutes for the dam to start to break.
First came Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) who said that she couldn’t vote for Steve Scalise because he has cancer.
Later, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) went on CNN and decided to let loose.
Jake Tapper asked Mace, “You endorsed Jim Jordan, so I'm assuming you voted for Jim Jordan today. If the vote for Speaker were today, would you vote for Steve Scalise?”
Mace answered, “I would not. I plan on voting for Jim Jordan on the floor. I've been very vocal about this over the last couple of days. I personally cannot in good conscience vote for someone who attended a white supremacist conference, and compared himself to David Duke. I …
