Counties That Voted For Biden Carry The Economy
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s idea that red and blue states should divorce is something that southern Republicans have been pushing virtually since the end of the Civil War. Still, in some ways, not much has changed in the economic disparity between the South and the rest of the country.
Steven Rattner showed what a national divorce would look like on MSNBC’s Morning Joe:
Rattner said, “Virtually every single state except for Utah, don't ask me why Utah got back more from Washington than it paid. So it would not really work very well to their advantage to leave. In fact, the top states for getting a better deal from Washington are Kentucky, Mississippi and West Virginia.”
At a county level, the disparity is even greater as counties that voted for Joe Biden provide 71% of the nation’s GDP.
