Ron DeSantis Tries To Punish Disney
Gov. DeSantis (R-FL) has been trying to use his feud with Disney as a key pillar in his culture war platform for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Disney opposed DeSantis’s Don’t Say Gay law, and the governor responded by taking over the board that oversees Disney World’s government services and replacing the board members with five Republican DeSantis allies.
Gov. DeSantis had his woke culture war issue to use as the centerpiece for a run at the Republican presidential nomination.
Fox News and GOP elites had their Trump alternative.
It all seemed well for DeSantis, but Disney wasn’t done.
