Trump former chief of staff John Kelly's warning that Trump is a fascist was ignored by the nation's major newspapers.

Trump’s Former Chief Of Staff Calling Him A Fascist Should Be Dominating The News
Imagine if Vice President Kamala Harris’s former chief of staff gave multiple interviews to two of the biggest national outlets claiming that Harris has authoritarian tendencies, and was a fascist. Donald Trump would be on television continuously talking about it. Cable news would discuss it endlessly on a loop, and the nation’s biggest newspapers would be blaring headlines about Harris.
The entire election would be turned upside down.
In 2024, we have already seen what the media can do when they decide to relentlessly target a Democrat. Look at what happened to President Biden.
CNN and MSNBC have covered the Trump fascism story heavily.
Fox News did not specifically mention the Kelly comments until this afternoon, but it is clear what Fox is, so it would have been more surprising if they would have treated the story objectively.
However, there is a disconnect between cable news, non-Fox and Newsmax category, and newspapers.
It seems the nation’s newspapers have decided to bury the fact that the former chief of staff for the Republican presidential candidate described his ex-boss as a fascist.
Media Matters found, “Despite these repeated and deeply concerning warnings from those previously close to Trump, Kelly’s comments did not appear on the front pages of The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, or The New York Times. Mainstream outlets have repeatedly failed to give sufficient coverage to news stories about Trump’s extremism and authoritarianism, including Milley’s recent comments.”
It would be reasonable to think that Donald Trump being called a fascist by his ex-chief of staff was worth some space on the front page, but not in the nation’s most read newspapers, it wasn’t.
What does it mean for democracy that so much of the media is willing to ignore warnings about fascism?
