Two new polls were released on the eve of the Democratic convention. Both the ABC News and CBS News polls showed Vice President Harris breaking 50% support and with a national lead over Donald Trump.

A rational political campaign would have already recalculated its strategy to account for the fact that the Democratic nominee has changed. That is what a rational campaign would do.
