Rep. Lauren Boebert isn’t about to lose her House seat because her district ideologically shifted. Boebert wasn’t gerrymandered, and her election wasn’t stolen. None of the regular Republican reasons for defeat apply.

Boebert is being compared to Sarah Palin a lot, and there are some similarities in their circumstances, but there is also more than a whiff of sexism in the comparison.

A better comparison to Boebert, soon-to-be former Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) who lost his 2022 Republican primary for one simple reason. He didn’t do his job.

Members of the House vote on legislation and go through the legislation process, but the real meat and potatoes of the job are constituent services.
