Donald Trump Is Telling Us Exactly What He Is Going To Do
Donald Trump hides a lot of things. Trump hides his finances, medical records, potential deals and bribes taken from foreign countries, and other possible criminal activities. Trump is always hiding much more than he is saying, but when it comes to democracy, the ex-president has been very clear.
The only elections that Trump believes are legitimate are the ones that he wins. Any other election was “rigged” or “stolen.” Trump claimed that the 2020 election was stolen, then used those false claims to incite the 1/6 attack on the Capitol, which was his final desperate act after all of his legal challenges had failed.
Donald Trump refuses to say that he will accept the election results if he loses. He refused to promise to accept the results when he was running against Joe Biden, and he has done the same against Kamala Harris.
Trump is expected to challenge the election results, and while, as Rachel Maddow explained on her recent show, there are some things that he could do in a state like Georgia that could make certifying the results in that state difficult, we’ve been here before.
The same Supreme Court with the same majority was on the bench the last time that Trump tried to steal an election. None of this is new. It is not new to the court system, the American people, or Democrats.
Trump’s whole plan seems to have remained the same since 2016 and 2020. If he loses, he will try to overturn the results.
This time, there are no surprises, and the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris says they are ready.
