The AP has won reinstatement as a federal court has ruled that the government doesn't have the authority to ban reporters from the White House.

A Victory For The First Amendment

Donald Trump banned the AP from the White House after they refused to call the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. Trump no longer allowed the AP to come inside the White House or travel with the president.

The AP was one of the few mainstream organizations that did not bend the knee to Trump.

Instead, the AP has sued and won.

Scott MacFarlane of CBS News posted on X:

Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee, says “The court simply holds that under the First Amendment, if the Government opens its doors to some journalists—be it to the Oval Office, the East Room, or elsewhere—it cannot then shut those doors to other journalists because of their viewpoints. The Constitution requires no less."
