Jon Ossoff Destroys Tulsi Gabbard And Exposes Trump's Iran War Deception
Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) demonstrated during a Senate hearing that Tulsi Gabbard is not doing her job. The threat of a nuclear Iran was all in Trump's head and not backed up by intel.
Public congressional hearings are often performative. The members of Congress are performing for the cameras and the folks back home as much as conducting oversight.
In the second Trump administration, instances of oversight by the Legislative Branch have been few and far between. Democrats have tried, but the Republican House and Senate majorities have most often rolled over and played dead.

The House and Senate Republican behavior has been a horrid development for our system of governance, because the majority in the Legislative Branch has decided to completely abandon their duty to act as a check on the Executive Branch.
Occasionally, a rare moment of oversight breaks through, as when Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) questioned Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
Ossoff asked Gabbard about her opening statement, “ That opening statement as submitted to the committee in advance of this hearing, stated that as a result of last summer’s airstrikes, Iran’s nuclear enrichment program was obliterated. End quote. Correct?”
Gabbard answered, “Correct.”
Sen. Ossoff continued, “ And is that in fact the assessment of the intelligence community?”
Gabbard, “Yes.”
At this point, Gabbard should have suspected that the foundation was being laid for a big question.
Ossoff kept going, “ So the assessment of the intelligence community is that Iran’s nuclear enrichment program was obliterated by last summer’s airstrikes.”
Gabbard, “Yes.”
Sen. Ossoff, “ In the opening statement you submitted to the committee last night, also stated quote, there has been no effort since then to try to rebuild their enrichment capability.End quote. Correct?”
DNI Gabbard, “That’s right.”
Ossoff was building up to a killer question, as you will read and see below.
