Jamie Raskin Tells Trump He Is A Lame Duck

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said that Republicans are thinking more about their own futures than pleasing a lame duck president like Trump.

There was a shift after the 2025 election. It was as if Republicans saw the writing on the wall and started to plan to save themselves.

Speaker Mike Johnson’s career is handcuffed to Trump, so it makes sense that he is engaging in the Epstein files cover-up.

It doesn’t make sense for members who will be running for reelection in a year to have to go back to their districts and explain to voters why they voted to help a president protect a pedophile, especially when that president has no political future and is irrelevant after the 2026 election.

Rep. Jamie Raskin was speaking with MSNBC’s Ali Velshi about why Republicans like Rep. Lauren Boebert did not yield to Trump’s pressure campaign.

Raskin said:

 It is tremendously revealing that they would summon Lauren Bobert or any member of the Republican majority over to the White House to try to coerce them to change their position on complete disclosure of the Epstein files. Donald Trump, of course, is saying, oh, I don’t know much about this. I haven’t thought about this.

I’m not thinking about a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell. It’s clear that’s all they’re thinking about. There it is, full-time, 24/7, focus on blocking the release of the Epstein files and to keep the press from going down this road of trying to analyze what happened and what may become the largest child sex trafficking and abuse scandal in American history.

Now, of course, there are lots of competitors there, and that’s one reason the country’s in flames about this because there have been so many scandals across the country related to churches, related to high schools, related to colleges, related to sports teams, and so on. People wanna know what the truth is and what is still going on out there in this billion-dollar child sex trafficking ring that Epstein and Maxwell ran.
