James Talarico Could Flip The Senate To Democrats And Trump Is Doing Nothing About It

Donald Trump’s PAC is sitting on $400 million, and with Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico leading Ken Paxton, Trump is refusing to spend a dime.

Republicans are sounding the alarm about the Texas US Senate race. Talarico is up 47%-40% in the latest Texas Public Opinion Research Poll, and Republicans are getting worried about what might happen in one of the most conservative states in the country.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune was asked on Fox News, “ Tallarico's everywhere. I mean, you go on YouTube, you go anywhere, you're gonna see a lot of Tallarico. He's got $21 million versus Ken Paxton's, I think, one or two million in his campaign coffers. Are you gonna be going to Texas personally to campaign for Ken Paxton, especially given the history, uh, that you have with John Cornyn?”

Thune answered:

I'll be down there next week. We're all gonna be down there for the midterm convention, and yes, be doing things for, on behalf of, and I've done some things already for Ken Paxton. Wherever they want me, I'll be there. We, this is just a we have to win this race. It's not an option.

But Texas has 20 media markets. It's about $8 million a week just to be on television, not to mention digital and other types of streaming platforms. And so we're gonna need all hands on the deck, and I think all of our allies out there, including the president and his team, and their resources need to be brought to bear on Texas because it's not one that we can lose if we're gonna hang on to a Republican majority. We flat have to win there.

Republicans have been grumbling that Trump wanted Paxton; now they expect the president to foot the bill for what is expected to be a $200 million campaign.

So far, Trump has done nothing financially for Paxton.
