It's Democracy, Not Biden's Future, That Matters Most
As reports are growing that President Biden may step aside, it is important to remember that the real issue of this election is democracy.

The Media And Democrats Are Focused On The Wrong Thing
The reports are growing that President Biden’s thoughts on stepping aside have shifted.
There has been a shift behind the scenes in the president’s openness to stepping aside, according to multiple people close to Biden, despite his aggressive insistence in public appearances and private phone calls with allies that he is not going anywhere.
Biden had already, in the opinion of some of the president’s aides, shown signs that if he were convinced he had no path “he would not go forward with this,” a person with knowledge of the president’s conversations with aides said.
A report from Axios also says that the President’s thought process has changed:
Biden is doing two new and telling things: listening more and asking about Vice President Harris' prospects against Trump. That's why you see all the leaks about Biden being open-minded. He would hardly talk to naysayers a week ago.
The most likely scenario is Biden bows out and endorses Harris — but also flicks to letting the delegates sort it out if the party feels otherwise. That would aim to defuse any criticism that the Democratic Party was being undemocratic.
If President Biden decides that one term is enough, Vice President Harris is the only acceptable alternative. The party's base will explode if elites try to force anyone else on them.
I believe that if Biden decides to stay, Democrats should support him and work hard for his reelection. If Biden decides to go, Democrats should unify behind Kamala Harris and fight to win the election.
The real issue and dire threat the country faces is the possibility of losing its democracy. Only one political party in this country fights for democracy and individual rights, and that is the Democratic Party.
Democratic elites and big donors have lost the plot. They are more worried about feeling good about the nominee than the issues that matter.
Let’s focus on the issue that matters.
