Absolutely time. Obviously well before now it was evident to anyone with ears and eyes that Trump was in major decline. He could barely string a coherent sentence together and made little sense when he tried to deliver a speech. Out of fear or wanting to stay in power at any cost, Congress gave him unlimited authority to declare war, cut budgets and raise taxes on everyone but his rich donors. Even the Supreme Court has bowed down to a weak man who pretends to be strong. This emperor has no clothes and more importantly no mind. He cares nothing about anyone but himself and will destroy the world to stay in power and out of prison.
Combined with the fact that nobody wants Vance to become prez !!! so I just don't see this happening. Here's hoping the Dems win the house back in the fall, and then trump is totally sidelined & decapitated ! No good hoping shame will do anything, he has NO moral compass & doesn't GAS what the world thinks of him !!
What exactly is the point in having it then? If the president was at the point of setting off a nuclear bomb that might affect the whole world, would they invoke it then? If so that’s what he could do now????
It's five months to the election and by all indications, it's going to be a bloodbath for the Republicans regardless. Trump lost what little credibility he had with Democrats and Independents, but not all Republicans are raving MAGA (and in the Senate that proportion is even smaller). If Trump had attacked Iran with nuclear weapons, China and Russia would likely have nuked Washington DC and Jerusalem.
At the same time, the MAGA faction faced two very uncomfortable facts today: Armageddon is indiscriminatory, and more importantly, Trump caved. Did he cave under extreme pressure? Yes. But he caved.
I'm not sure where we go from here. I think he was told his options today - he either retires as President, effective immediately, or he will be indicted and found guilty of treasonable offenses to the United States by Congress. 25/4 is pro forma. I just have to wonder who was in the room when this directive was handed to him.
The 25th will only work if you have a responsible Cabinet and Congress. We do not have that. Maybe in November. As for this 2 week pause of hostilities. And it's only my opinion. Iran agreed to nothing. Someone got through to Yoyo. You do this and you will be gone. Did military leaders refuse some of the orders? Someone convinced him, showed him how bad things are and talked him down. Big donors who don't want a recession? Intelligence reports? Iran ave up nothing and Yoyo lost. Bigly.
Any sane senator, any sane house representative, no matter their party affiliation, sees that Trump is leading us to the abyss with his lawlessness, insane disgusting rants, and desperation to distract us from the Epstein files (after Iran it will be Cuba and Greenland). The only plausible answer is that Republican representatives who resist the Trump horror show know they will be overwhelmed with death threats to themselves and their family. This sick scenario is very frightening!
