Until she appeared at a rally with Trump in Iowa on Sunday, Republican Senate candidate Ashley Hinson had done quite the pivot to distance herself from the administration.

Hinson didn’t show up when JD Vance held a rally for her, and she had been trying to sell herself as bipartisan until she covered herself in Trump stink on Sunday, as the president insulted her and talked about her body and weight.

Before the rally on Sunday, CNN’s Manu Raju did a profile of the Iowa Senate race where he tried to talk to Hinson, but she had no interest in discussing her change in tone from loyal MAGA to bipartisan on the campaign trail.

Raju said, “I tried to catch up with Hinson at a campaign stop about 150 miles north of Des Moines to ask about that shift, but she showed little interest in engaging.”
