Implications as MAGA Refuses to Believe Trump Has Any Responsibility for Epstein List Betrayal
What does it mean for our country that the movement that backed an adjudicated sexual assaulter is now refusing to believe that Donald Trump has any responsibility for the Epstein list betrayal?

Right when it seemed as if MAGA had finally found a red line, a value upon which even Donald Trump could not tread, the movement best known for being willing to back an adjudicated sexual assaulter, fraudster, and a man credibly accused of attacking the actual United States of America has shown itself again to be a movement of the easily manipulated.
Yes, that’s right: MAGA is blaming Attorney General Pam Bondi for Donald Trump’s mishandling of the Epstein files.
They are calling for Pam Bondi’s resignation, as if the next Trump flunky as AG won’t do exactly the same thing because surprise! Donald Trump, who was friends with Epstein, does not want the information about who the Epstein clients were to be released.
Pam Bondi led MAGA down the Epstein garden path when it was convenient, including the photo op day of handing MAGA influencers invited to the White House with binders supposedly full of information about Epstein, which turned out to be mostly publicly available information.
This week, Bondi claimed that when she referenced having the Epstein list on her desk on Fox News, she didn’t mean an Epstein list. That list does not exist, according to Trump’s AG. The Trump DOJ also didn’t want to share any more Epstein information because they wanted to “protect innocent individuals.”

This gives rise to asking who are these innocent individuals that Trump is protecting.
We don’t know why Trump doesn’t want that information to be released, but we do know that a lot of very powerful people are breathing a sigh of relief, from Prince Andrew on down. Reputation rehabilitation/white-washing tours are about to commence.
And it is fair to land this on Trump’s desk, rather than Bondi’s.
The DOJ under Trump is not an independent body; it serves Trump and his interests.
Trump has a history of politicizing the DOJ in his first term and his second term has kicked off the weaponization of the DOJ on steroids.
When Trump doesn’t like how an Attorney General puts the law above him, he fires them. He has already fired DOJ officials who worked on criminal investigations into him for his actions on January 6th (an armed, deadly insurrection attempting a self-coup to stay in power) and his consistent mishandling of highly classified documents, including leaving them available in a bathroom at his Mar-a-Lago club, which is frequently visited by people representing foreign interests.
But MAGA doesn’t blame Trump, once again suggesting they are incapable of holding Trump accountable for anything.
