Impeachment of Trump is pointless without the votes to remove him from office in the Senate, but House Democrats are focusing in on forcing people like Kristi Noem and Pete Hegseth out.
The Democratic base wants to impeach Trump again because it would feel good. There is no accountability that comes with impeachment. Democrats impeached Trump twice during his first administration. Voters cared so little that they sent Trump back to the White House in 2024.

Trump didn’t care because he understood that presidential impeachment is the equivalent of getting a verbal warning at warning. There are zero consequences for an impeached president who isn’t convicted by the Senate. These consequences are diminished even more when the president does not have to run for reelection again.
Impeaching a term-limited president when the most important issue in the country is the economy is a distraction that offers no accountability, but it would make some Democrats feel good.
Voters are asking for lower prices in exponentially larger numbers than they are for another impeachment.
Trump has filled his administration with loyalists who share his lack of values and respect for the law and the Constitution. These are the people who are carrying out the Trump agenda that is harming people and damaging the country.
It makes sense for Democrats to focus their energy in areas where they can make a real difference, and one of the biggest differences that House Democrats could make with a new majority would be to force out some of the most dangerous and toxic elements of the Trump administration, which is what they appear to be planning to do.
