If Justice is ‘Getting Even’ Then Free Luigi

If seeking justice is “getting even” and thus unseemly, then why don’t the elites push to free Luigi and anyone else who has gone after the elite class like Trump has gone after everyday Americans?

Democratic leadership and the media are already going hard on rug-sweeping the Trump crime family crimes, with Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries referring to accountability as “getting even.”

“The American people don’t want us to get even; they want us to get things done on their behalf because life is way too expensive. We ran on affordability. We won on affordability, and now it’s our job to govern on affordability,” Jeffries said days ago.

The Democrat was trying to walk the tightrope of saying Democrats will pursue oversight by following the facts and the law, but their primary legislative mandate from voters was centered on economic relief.

The issue with this thinking is it’s what got us here. Economic relief is directly related to the corruption at the top.

They are living high because we are living low.

If seeking justice is “getting even” and thus unseemly, then why don’t the elites push to free Luigi and anyone else who has gone after the elite class like Trump has gone after everyday Americans?

Their unchecked-by-our-Congress insatiable pursuit of wealth and the influence will corrupt and ultimately ruin this democracy, as it has throughout history.

They have stolen from the people and this country in order to enrich themselves. They behave as if they are not just a shadow government, but actually above the government.

They behave as if they are economic royalty, and the mainstream media has long propagated this notion of reverence for the wealthy and contempt of the people whose backs are breaking under this growing tyrannical attack on freedom.

For years, mainstream talking heads have quite literally sneered at “activists” upset after the overturning of Roe, the anti-ICE protesters, going back the days of Occupy Wall Street protests. They revered the Tea Party, which protested against economic fairness in favor of economic policies for the elites, while sneering at the people in the streets demanding the government work for them, too.

The wealthy and elite are untouchable and anyone who perpetrates a crime against them is the worst person on the planet, while Trump’s ICE is shooting and killing people without cause, including American citizens, and that has not been raised as an unspeakable act on par with Luigi Mangione’s 2024 killing of Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare.

Why did they even trying to prosecute Luigi if justice is so unseemly?

As a commenter said on James Talarico’s Instagram page showing him putting his “I voted” sticker on ICE killing victim Lorenzo Salgado’s memorial in Houston, “We don’t want revenge. We want JUSTICE.”

This is not difficult to understand.

If having a class of economic royalty that operates above the laws of this country is not reason enough, economic disparity at this degree kills democracies.

Without justice for all, there is no democracy.

So my question to them is, if seeking justice is “getting even” and thus unseemly, then why don’t the elites push to free Luigi and anyone else who has gone after the elite class like Trump has gone after everyday Americans?

The answer to this is obvious.

The elites see “justice” as what must happen when an elite like them is harmed, and “getting even” or “revenge” is when the little people are harmed and seek justice.

This thinking is exactly what has eroded our democracy.

Elites have been trying to shame Americans into complacency and “civility” for decades, and they haven’t let up even as they are shot in the streets.
