House Republicans Flee Washington To Avoid Vote On Epstein Files

Mike Johnson went from considering shutting down the floor of the House to shutting down the House completely until September 2 to avoid having to hold any votes on the Epstein files.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) called the House Republicans out for running away:

It is apparent right now that the House of Representatives is running out of town and the Republican caucus over there is so fragile that they cannot withstand simple debate and discussion about the topic of Jeffrey Epstein. Senator Durbin said it plainly that we are now in a nation where we had our highest law enforcement official say plainly that there is a client list and a truckload of evidence that they were going to release, and now months later, they're saying nothing to see there.
