On the same day that the White House is reeling from the chief of staff going unfiltered and telling some truths in a new article, Speaker Mike Johnson was confronted by a group of angry members of Congress demanding that Obamacare subsidies be extended.

The twist is that the angry members who confronted the speaker weren’t Democrats. They were Republicans.

Before we take a trip to the political Twilight Zone, one fact must be repeated.

Republicans did this to themselves.

House and Senate Republicans decided to increase health insurance premiums in order to make a small down payment on their tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations.

No one asked for the Obamacare subsidies to be cut or changed. No one requested that Republicans gut the US health insurance system. Cutting the subsidies wasn’t something that Republicans ran on in 2024, nor was it a promise that was made to voters.

Cutting the subsidies was an idea that Republicans came up with on their own because they have wanted to destroy the Affordable Care Act for fifteen years.

When Republicans shut down the government to avoid extending the subsidies, it was just the beginning of a downward plummet that has divided the Republican Party and outraged the American people.

None of this had to happen, which is what makes the story of a Republican mob coming after Mike Johnson even more amazing.

Please continue to read the story below.
