Republicans Aren’t Producing For America
The DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee provided PoliticusUSA with an interesting statistic today. House Republicans have passed 25% fewer bills so far than at the same point in the last Congress when Democrats were in charge.
Before we get into the numbers, keep in mind that the most productive time legislatively for most Congresses is at the beginning of the session. The first year of the new Congress is also almost always the more productive because the second year usually features a shorter calendar because representatives are up for reelection and are at home campaigning. Presidential election years usually feature even more compressed legislative calendars than usual.
