Kevin McCarthy got what he wanted when Republicans won control of the House. Even if he becomes Speaker, he will be in a situation with one of the smallest majorities in history and a caucus that is not unified.

Donald Trump and his allies have been demanding that House Republicans impeach President Biden. Trump wants revenge for his record-setting two impeachments during his single term in office.

However, there is a problem.

House Republicans will need 218 votes to pass articles of impeachment and formally impeach the President.

House Republicans appear not to have 218 votes for any impeachments.
