CNN made sure to stream Trump live, even as the Real President was speaking to the press about global issues of huge import, including President Biden responding to a question about the origin of the missiles fired into Poland.
A reporter asked if they were fired by the Russians. Biden responded, “There is preliminary information that contests that. I don’t want to say that until we completely investigate. But it’s unlikely, in the minds of the trajectory, that it was fired from Russia. But we’ll see.”
And indeed, Wednesday morning we learn that the Polish president and NATO officials say that this was probably a Ukrainian missile fired in self defense: "This is not Ukraine's fault. Russia bears ultimate responsibility as it continues its illegal war against Ukraine," NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters in Brussels.
This would be great news in terms of not escalating the war, but if corroborated shouldn’t be used to distract from the fact that Putin started this war of aggression.
Both President Biden and President Macron were asked if they had a reaction to Trump announcing a run. The White House pooler described their reaction in a White House Press Office email sent to PoliticusUSA, “They looked at (each) other briefly and shared the faintest of smirks. Let’s call it a faint smile.
“Not really,” POTUS said, before turning his attention back to the mangroves. Macron stayed silent and did not respond to a question about his reaction on Trump.”
Here is an example of the headlines — note that the majority including NBC, MSNBC, CNN and New York Times fail to mention Trump’s coup, the multiple criminal investigations he faces, and his ongoing refusal to admit he lost 2020 even though he knows he did:
So we are back to this “game” - the ratings and click game for profit above our democracy.
