Dealing With The Trump Gag Order Problem
In the Trump hush money trial Judge Juan Merchan has to make a decision. Prosecutors allege and can offer overwhelming evidence that Donald Trump continues to, as a matter of strategy, violate the gag order that was imposed in this case.
Trump is trying to influence the outcome of the trial by influencing and intimidating members of the court, witnesses, and the jury. The former president is also attempting to use the trial as a platform for his presidential campaign.
A hearing will be held on Tuesday morning to discuss Trump’s alleged violations of the gag order in the case.
Some have suggested that the punishment is easy. They want Trump behind bars, but locking up a former president, but that is much easier said than done.
The idea of incarcerating Trump raises a lot of questions. Where does an ex-president get housed for incarceration? What happens to his Secret Service protection? Does locking Trump up give him what wants by allowing him to play the persecuted martyr?
