Hakeem Jeffries Puts Impeaching Trump On The Table
House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said that House Democrats have not ruled in or out impeaching Donald Trump for a third time.
As Donald Trump keeps upping the ante on his corruption and ignoring the law, he is making it impossible for House Democrats, who might not want to spend their time impeaching Trump for a third time, to do so again.
The problem with a third Trump impeachment is that even though it would feel good for many Democrats to see Trump impeached, there is no evidence that impeachment would matter to the president or accomplish anything.

Unless Democrats have 67 votes in the Senate, or get dozens of Republicans to support convicting Trump in a Senate trial, there would be no consequences for impeaching this president for a third time.
Practical realities aside, there is a great demand from Democrats both in Congress and among Democratic voters for a third Trump impeachment.
Many House Democrats are interested in working on issues related to affordability, such as inflation and healthcare. Some House Democrats have no interest in pursuing a third impeachment of a term-limited president whom they won’t be able to convict and will be out of office in two years anyway.
House Democrats have a bit of a conflict among themselves on impeachment, which is what made his answer about a third impeachment interesting when he was asked about it on Meet The Press.
