Marjorie Taylor Greene Runs Into A Brick Wall
Just a few weeks ago, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) threatened to oust Speaker Mike Johnson because he had allowed aid to Ukraine to be passed on the House floor. A few days ago, Greene was set to detonate her motion to vacate plan.
Chaos would rule, and the rest of Congress would learn not to mess with Moscow Marge.
Fast forward to late Monday afternoon, and CNN’s Manu Raju posted:
MTG and Massie emerge from two-hour meeting with Speaker Johnson and said they would meet again tomorrow. Wouldn’t give specifics on what the speaker is offering and wouldn’t say if she would still force a vote seeking his ouster this week.
“So I just had a long discussion with the speaker in his office about ways to move forward for a Republican controlled House of Representatives. We're talking to him again tomorrow based on our discussion today.”
Rep. Greene has gone from definitely taking down Mike Johnson to meeting again tomorrow.
That is a very interesting strategy for someone who has committed to getting rid of the Speaker of the House.
What’s going on here?
What could Mike Johnson give Marjorie Taylor Greene that she didn’t already get from Kevin McCartthy?
Could Johnson offer Greene a doomed-to-fail Biden impeachment vote?
Maybe Johnson has a secret stash of Hunter Biden pics since Greene seems to be really into those?
The reality is that Kevin McCarthy already gave away the farm just to get the job, and we all remember how well that worked out for McCarthy and the country.
It seems that Marjorie Taylor Greene might not get much of anything except for the one thing that she needs most, which we will discuss below.
