Tucker Carlson is gone from Fox News, but the battle against lies and disinformation that threaten our nation goes on. To support news that reflects your values, please consider subscribing today.

Just one week after Fox News agreed to a $787 million settlement with Dominion, Tucker Carlson and his producer have been canceled. Effective immediately.

The result? Bloomberg reported “Tucker Carlson, one of the most popular Fox News prime-time hosts, was worth more than $690 million to the parent company. At least that is what trading in the stock indicates. Shares of Fox Corp. sank as much as 5.4% Monday, the most since October, after the company said Carlson had left with immediate effect.”

What could be so bad that Fox News severed their relationship with Tucker Carlson? This is the question on everyone’s mind after Fox News suddenly and unexpectedly announced that they have parted ways with Tucker Carlson.

The network was still promoting Tucker Carlson as of this morning, according to Media Matters’ Angelo Carusone.

They are not giving him a farewell show which suggests more details are coming: “Given that Fox rarely fires anybody, especially top-rated hosts for anything other than sexual misconduct, and factor in the lawsuit from Carlson producer Abby Grossberg detailing the discrimination and sexual harassment in Carlson’s office, there is a strong chance that there are more shoes to drop.”

Here’s Fox News’ statement from Oliver Darcy:

Tucker Carlson’s producer Justin Wells is also out.
