Donald Trump will do anything for money. The world’s most shameless infomercial pitchman also happens to be a former president who controls one of the two major political parties in the United States.
From NFTs to shoes that don’t technically exist yet to Bibles that have managed to pile up one-star reviews, if anybody writes Trump a check, he will shill the product in a licensing deal.
That is one side of the Trump equation that generates the clickbait and late-night comedy.
There is a serious side to Trump For Sale that has the potential to impact the lives of every American, and that is the policy side.
The problem with having a grifter who will do anything for money as one of the top two candidates to be the next president is that Donald Trump doesn’t care about policy. Not only is he willfully disinterested and ignorant about policy, Donald Trump has no regard for the consequences his policy will have for the American people.
We’ve all heard Trump ranting about tariffs. Besides the fact that he doesn’t seem to understand what tariffs actually do, or who pays for them, the ex-president keeps promising that if he returns to the White House, he is going to double down on his tariffs policy, as he is now promising a 10% tariff on all imported goods.
According to study by the Center For American Progress (CAP), a 10% tariff on imports would equal a $1,500 tax increase each year on American families.
As we will discuss below, a vote for Donald Trump could hit American families right in the wallet.
