Pete Hegseth was a disaster waiting to happen as soon as Trump nominated him to be the Secretary of Defense. Hegseth is the Secretary of Defense, not the Secretary of War, because only Congress has the authority to change the name of the position, and they have not done so; legally, Hegseth’s title is Secretary of Defense.

Hegseth is reportedly the person who assured Donald Trump that the war with Iran would be easy. The Secretary of Defense has launched a full-blown culture war from his position running the Pentagon.
Sec. Hegseth has been everything that was expected of an unqualified weekend Fox News.
Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) has been calling for Hegseth to resign or be fired for more than a year, and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) is also calling on Trump to fire Hegseth for purging the military of top leaders.
