Donald Trump has dodged accountability on almost every issue and scandal, but the one person who continues to hold him accountable and win is E. Jean Carroll.

Donald Trump was found to have sexually abused and defamed E. Jean Carroll, who sued him the first time in 2019. Carroll was awarded $83 million in 2019. Trump has been appealing and trying to get out of paying, while the interest has been piling up, and Trump now owes Carroll over $100 million for the 2019 defamation case alone.

Carroll again sued Trump in 2022 for battery and more defamation. Carroll won the second case and was awarded an additional $5 million. Trump has refused to pay and has taken his appeal of the second case all the way to the Supreme Court, which declined his appeal.

Trump is now out of appeals and has to pay up.

Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, said in a statement. “Today’s Supreme Court decision affirms once and for all the jury’s unanimous verdict that President Donald J. Trump sexually assaulted and defamed E. Jean Carroll. His multiple efforts to appeal that verdict have all failed and today’s ruling ends his quest to avoid accountability for his actions.”

The case isn’t about money as much as it is about Donald Trump’s belief that he can do anything that he wants and never be held accountable.

Trump is still trying to dodge accountability.
