Donald Trump's Approval Rating Is Now Lower Than Joe Biden's Ever Was

Trump and his party have restlessly tried to paint Biden as the biggest presidential failure in history, but Trump's approval rating is lower than Biden's ever was.

Donald Trump’s second term has been defined by a relentless effort to rewrite history. Trump has tried to rewrite the history of the Iran nuclear deal and has faceplanted into a war that he can’t get out of, no matter how hard he tries to surrender.

Trump’s second administration has been such a comprehensive failure that even as the president and his administration spend their days blaming the Biden administration for everything, Trump is putting up approval numbers that are historic for how comprehensively terrible they are.

A recent Economist/YouGov Poll found:

35% of Americans strongly or somewhat approve of Donald Trump’s job performance, and 61% disapprove, according to the latest Economist / YouGov Poll. That puts Trump’s net job approval at -25, just above the lowest level in either of his terms (-26) and below its level for the last several weeks.

Trump’s net approval of -25 also is lower than Joe Biden’s net approval at this stage of his presidency (-14) , and lower than Biden ever reached (-23, on several occasions in his final year in office).

Trump’s core base of support has consistently polled at about 35%-37% of the electorate. If Trump is polling at 35% approval, that suggests that the president is down to the core of his support.

There is one dynamic of the data that demonstrates how far Trump has fallen.
