Donald Trump Humiliated as Iran Excludes US and Asserts Dominance Over Strait
Iran has "asserted dominance" over the Strait of Hormuz, reaching a preliminary agreement with Oman while leaving the US out of talks, even as Donald Trump claims they are begging him to talk.
US President Donald Trump claimed it was Iran’s “last chance” and promised a deal was imminent with Iran, claiming they begged him for talks.
But in reality, Iran has “asserted dominance” over the Strait of Hormuz, reaching a preliminary agreement with Oman while excluding the US altogether, even as Donald Trump claims they are begging him to talk.

“Asserting dominance over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran said it had agreed on a plan to jointly manage the strategic waterway together Lilian after fresh negotiations between the two countries. A round of talks which excluded a notable participant, the United States,” France 24 reported.
Iran, referring disdainfully to the US as “certain third parties” that might obstruct the process, said the compromise is contingent on the U.S. lifting its naval blockade.
If this is accurate, it reads like a demand on the US in order to open the Strait, rather than a “deal.”
After all, the Strait of Hormuz operated as an open international waterway prior to Trump and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s lethally self-indulgent war.
“According to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, established in 1982, no country has the right to claim international waters and all ships have the right of unimpeded passage,” the AP reported in July.
Trump Claims They’re Begging for Talks
Trump asserted to reporters that Iran begged him to talk, using his “tell” for when he’s engaging in exaggeration or outright fabrication of a discussion with another person, in which they are always pleading for something, saying “Please!” and often “Sir!”
“A lot of progress has been made. And they called me, and they said, ‘Please! Let’s talk. They want to talk. The funny thing is they never mention that. They always say ‘We’re not talking.’ But they called.”
Iran might have “called,” but if they did, it could have been to assert their demand that the US needs to lift its naval blockade.
