American presidents fail all of the time. Presidents aren’t kings, so the founders designed a system where presidents are checked through their failure. Presidents often get their agendas legislatively checked by Congress. If the president is found to have acted beyond their constitutional authority, they get checked by the courts.

There is another check that is not spoken of as often. The American people are the ultimate check on any president. When a president goes against the will and the wishes of a majority of the American people, their approval rating plummets, their political capital declines, and ultimately, voters punish the president or their party at the ballot box.

The Republican majority in Congress has voluntarily surrendered its power to Trump, so the congressional check has been mostly absent. The people have been the ultimate guardrail on Trump as he has become massively unpopular, and his political power has tanked.

The courts have been the sole check in the designed system, 3 branch government checks and balances, which has functioned to check Donald Trump.

Donald Trump’s problem with Don Lemon dates back to the journalist’s years on CNN where he was an outspoken Trump critic.

Trump has tried to prosecute journalist Don Lemon twice, and the courts threw the charges out.

Lemon acted as an observer at a church in Minnesota that was raided less than two weeks ago.

With the president’s power slipping to new lows, his administration announced that they have arrested Lemon.

Attorney General Pam Bondi posted on X:

At my direction, early this morning federal agents arrested Don Lemon, Trahern Jeen Crews, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lydell Lundy, in connection with the coordinated attack on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Lemon was arrested on obstruction and FACE Act charges for allegedly blocking the church entrance.

The charges are absurd, so what is this really about?

We will discuss the answer below.
