DOJ Officials Could Face Bipartisan Impeachment For Illegal Epstein Files Dump
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) said that he and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) are exploring impeaching DOJ officials who broke the law on the Epstein files release.
The response of survivor advocates has been swift and sudden after the Trump administration ignored the mandates in the law requiring them to release the Epstein files, and engaged in a sham release that did not comply with what was legally required.
Rep. Steven Lynch (D-MA), who serves on the House Oversight Committee, said that Democrats could sue the Trump administration as soon as Monday.
Rep. Lynch talked about how Democrats have been down this road with the Trump administration before on The Beat with Ari Melber:
We’ve done this before. We’ve actually had this happen before in the committee and it’s pretty standard for what we do. And so we would go back into court and try to have the judge enforce that order.
And also at some point we’re gonna have to go back over these redactions. We want the Department of Justice to. To explain and justify every single redaction that they’ve made that conceals evidence and denies these victims their, day in court and justice.

I think next week, based on the fact that we have not received all the documents as promised and as required, we can go into court, I believe, on Monday back into DC District Court.

It is more than potential lawsuits. Reps. Khanna and Massie, who have led the effort to get the files released, are talking about impeachments and criminal prosecutions.
