Corporate America is bracing for impact after American voters gave Democrats a strong trifecta of power.

“Democrats are throwing out the old playbook of polite investigations in favor of being much more aggressive” according to new reporting by Pranshu Verma in the Washington Post.

Did you ever think you’d see the day?

It gets better. They will move with “speed and severity,” according to a lawyer who specializes in Congressional investigations.

A lawyer who is the head of the congressional investigations practice at the law firm Crowell and Moring “said that the Democrats’ control of both chambers of Congress heightens the expectation that they will move with speed and severity.”

Democrats are planning an attack of investigations into the actions of America’s largest corporations over the past two years, according to the report, “sparking a reckoning among Silicon Valley and Wall Street executives who courted the Trump administration — and who are now bracing for an onslaught.”

The House is laying the groundwork to investigate President Donald Trump’s use of Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok, to plan the military operation and capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, according to those people. Lawmakers are also eyeing Apple over its hosting of tracking apps used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Meta over its demands that local governments sign nondisclosure agreements related to data center development.

Investigative Focus of Democrats

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), who tweeted ‘Lawyer up” in reaction to the astonishing political destruction of Republicans on Tuesday evening, outlined four primary areas of focus for the House Oversight Committee once Democrats take control: "the Trump Crime Family, corporate corruption, DHS and ICE abuses, and the cover-up of the Epstein files."

In a statement released Tuesday evening, Garcia said they would investigate the “Trump Crime Family”, including Trump’s cryptocurrency ventures, Jared Kushner’s $2 billion investment firm funding from Saudi Arabia, Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding reportedly backed by a Russian oligarch, and other Pentagon and business ties and contracts.
