Democrats Are Going Straight For The GOP’s Weak Spot
You do not need to look far back in history to see a time when Democrats emphasized the economy and blue-collar kitchen table issues. Democrats did it as recently as 2020. There has been much debate in the aftermath of the 2024 election regarding what went wrong for Democrats. One school of thought is that they lost touch with blue-collar voters of all types. While some say that Democrats had an economic message, the press wasn’t interested in covering it.

Democrats didn’t want to talk about inflation and prices during the election. Instead of trying to sell their economic accomplishments as part of a bigger plan and talking about inflation directly, too many Democratic candidates brushed inflation and prices aside and focused on specific policies like tax credits and jobs. However, what some voters really wanted to know is who is going to bring the country back to where it was before COVID by lowering prices and getting rid of inflation.
