Democrats And Republicans Tell Trump The SAVE America Act Is Dead On Arrival
After Donald Trump demanded that the Senate stay in session in August to pass the SAVE America Act, both Senate Democratic and Republican leaders declared the bill dead.
Trump knows that he is headed for a drubbing in November, and since none of his other schemes to rig the midterm election have worked, the president is trying to bully Republicans in the Senate into skipping their August recess to pass the SAVE America Act.

John Thune should not allow the United States Senate to “leave town” until it passes The Save America Act or, far better still, TERMINATES THE FILIBUSTER, where Republicans can then quickly pass everything they ever dreamed of, including a full and deep throated SAVE AMERICA ACT, the Budget, and the ever looming Debt Ceiling disaster, 1929! The Dumocrats will do it on day one, and can’t believe how lucky they got with this Senate leadership. Remember, stupidity always brings LOSING & DEATH!
Trump repeated his demand on the way to Michigan and during his speech in Michigan.
There is one massive problem.
Republicans still don’t have the necessary votes to kill the filibuster.
Republicans don’t even have a majority that supports the SAVE America Act.
The bill is dead.
The SAVE America Act is not going to happen, and if there is one thing that can unite members of both parties, it is the threat to take away their recess.
