Conservatives Turn On Trump As Even CPAC Crowd Cheers Impeachment
CPAC organizers tried to scare attendees with the prospect of Democrats winning back the House and impeaching Trump, but instead of booing the idea, conservatives cheered impeaching Trump.
When Donald Trump loses CPAC, he has lost the entire country.
Over the years, CPAC has changed from a serious conference about conservative policy to a gathering of far-right extremists and conspiracy theorists.
This is an audience that Trump had been courting for a decade and was thoroughly behind him.

Now that Trump never has to face the voters again, he has decided to stop pretending to care about CPAC. For the first time since he launched himself into national politics, Trump won’t be addressing CPAC.
It turns out that staying away might have been a good idea.
Matt Schlapp tried to rally the CPAC crowd with the line about if Democrats win back the House, they will impeach Trump.
The CPAC audience seemed fine with that.
Schlapp said, “ How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings?”
The crowd cheered.
Schlapp said, “No, that was the wrong answer. Lemme try it again. How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings?”
The crowd cheered again
Schlapp seemed surprised, “Who? No. Can someone bring some coffee out for the crowd? Yeah, no.”
Schlaap pivoted away from Trump, “I know we’ve gotta keep this House majority. How many of you agree with that?”
The crowd sort of cheered.
