If Donald Trump’s goal with putting troops on the ground on U.S. soil to carry out acts of violence against U.S. citizens was really to cut violent crime in DC, then you’d think his administration would not make cuts to the one program credited with reducing violent crime to a 30-year low. But of course, he did make those cuts to the gun violence prevention program.

Donald Trump’s United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro can’t explain that obvious discrepancy, and so she dismissed it with a contemptuous “Oh, stop it!” when asked about it.

Watch here:

As you can see from watching her handle this very predictable question, Donald Trump’s idea of staffing does not involve picking the best and brightest. Rather, he chooses people who copy his mannerisms and whom he has watched on the conservative echo chamber of Fox News.

So Pirro barks, “It’s never enough!” and “Oh, stop it!” when asked about why they cut funding to the one program with reliable results in cutting violent crime.

This might work on the conservative base, but it does not work for anyone else. It is rather obvious that Donald Trump and Jeanine Pirro do not care about actually reducing violent crime in DC, but this should be expected from a party led by a 34-time convicted felon.
