Bigger Fights To Defeat Trump Are Coming Soon
There are big issues coming up in the next few months, including a vote on ACA subsidies, another government shutdown deadline, and 2026 primaries, so Democrats need to regroup for the next fight.
The people who always benefit most from party infighting are those who fan the flames of emotion to make money.
When some call for Chuck Schumer to step down from leadership, it is often followed by an ask for money, which should make people question whether the real motivation is to provide better leadership or a cash grab.

The reality is that the only hope that Trump and the Republicans have in 2026 is for Democrats to be divided. Why the shutdown was so successful is that Democrats stayed united for 40 days.
However, that public-facing unity required Democrats to pressure the moderates who wanted to cave to Republicans on day one of the shutdown.
Consider this from HuffPo:
‘Publicly, Democrats projected a unified front for 40 days. But behind the scenes, they were anything but together. They spent weeks agonizing about their strategy, poring over polling and debating how long to keep going. That they held out as long as they did is a surprise in itself, given the dueling factions inside the caucus.
Moderate New Hampshire Democratic Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan opposed their party’s strategy to deny funding at the start and had to be dragged into the fight by their colleagues, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation. This included a last-minute intervention by Democrats on the Senate floor on the eve of the shutdown, without which the fight would have been over before it even began.
The HuffPo reporting suggests that the problem isn’t Schumer or even Democratic unity, but a few moderates who are always ready to avoid conflict and cave.
Given that context, it shouldn’t be too hard for Democrats to move on, because what is coming up next requires their full attention.
